The NeedRooted in an agriculture history, today’s green industry involves much more than plants and crops. Today, a wide range of services, career opportunities and business areas comprise the Green Industry, including: golf course management, athletic field maintenance, nursery crop sales and production, turf grass sod production, greenhouse crop production, interior landscape design and maintenance, sprinkler irrigation design and construction, landscape construction, floral design and much more. In the U.S. alone, this nearly $150 billion-dollar a year industry has created careers where 50 years ago no jobs existed. As the green industry’s business owners and employees look ahead to the next 50 years, leaders recognized the need for an organization such as The HortNetWORK to create a professional atmosphere of learning and exchange. That’s how The HortNetWORK started. A cluster of about six dedicated Green Industry professionals desired to build a community of members learning and sharing with each other. Founding PremiseA rising tide lifts all ships. The HortNetWORK today has created a swell of interest and serves as an umbrella nonprofit organization covering all niches of the Green Industry providing a place for members to come and participate. The HortNetWORK embraces each segment of this dynamic industry and seeks to fulfill the needs of its members. |
